Well, I certainly didn’t think I’d ever watch something like this. Mainly because the only musicals I tolerate are Disney/Pixar movies (and I tire of those pretty quickly as well) and the Sound of Music. But I was pleasantly surprised by this three-act webseries. Because I’m lazy, I’m just going to categorize it as a movie though.
Dr. Horrible wants to be a super villain, but hasn’t made it to success just yet. He has a blog (and followers!) and laments about his life online. His nemesis, Captain Hammer ‘saves’ the life of Penny, the girl Dr. Horrible likes and pretty much all the proverbial shit his the fan.
It’s a very entertaining movie! I really wasn’t expecting that. And the songs didn’t annoy me! That’s a huge accomplishment all in itself. I’d seriously recommend this ‘movie’ to everyone and certainly to Joss Whedon, Felicia Day, Nathan Fillion and Neil Patrick Harris lovers. They all shine.
And that last act, that third act is so poignant. I wasn’t expecting that either. So yay for unexpectedness!
