Review: Avengers – Age of Ultron

I’d been waiting for this day ever since the first Avengers came out and I stepped out of the cinema completely overwhelmed and over excited. And now it’s here! I’ve just come home from watching Avengers – Age of Ultron!

Without spoiling too much of the movie – though if you think all the highlights were already revealed in the trailers, think again! – the story goes a little like this: Tony and Banner attempt to create Ultron, a defence system for Earth against aliens, but it goes horribly wrong. Ultron is born and confused and decides that to save the Earth, he will have to kill the Avengers.

I really didn’t know how Joss Whedon was going to outdo himself, but he did it! He did and he did it well. It’s so grand and epic, and yet so personal. Things were revealed about our favourite characters that we’d not known before. The group is back together: Tony, Bruce, Steve, Clint, Natasha and Thor. Maria and Nick. There’s a slew of new characters, like Ultron, Wanda and Pietro and of course Stan Lee popped in to make a cameo. There are also some other MCU characters that happen to come on by, usually not for more than a few minutes, but they were most welcome.

I really can’t put into words how I feel about this movie, because my brain is still processing everything, but let me tell you: it doesn’t disappoint! It’s bigger and better than the first Avengers, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how everything will affect the MCU.
