Well, it’s been a while since the last update–August–but not that long, luckily. There have been changes in my responsibilities at work I’m adjusting to, there’s been a pup in the house since the end of July that needs raising/training, and I’m planning on purchasing a harp in December and teaching myself how to play. I’ve been editing multiple projects at the same time – which probably isn’t the best thing? – but I seem to have some issues just focusing on just one. Perhaps it’s because I got a new job in January and am still learning new things every day. Perhaps it’s because I haven’t queried in a while and there’s no deadline/rush.
So, how you been? It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I can’t believe my last writing update was in March of this year. There’s so much that has happened between then and now in both my writing life and my personal life.
Well, I just wrote (or struggled to write) the first draft of the synopsis (or what passes for a synopsis, I hope) of my manuscript. To be honest, brevity when describing the major events of my manuscript isn’t my strong suit.
I’ve been working through adding my grammatical and spelling (basically language) edits to my second draft of my NaNoWriMo novel [SG]. It’s going steadily, though not as quickly as I’d hoped, because I have to devote much of my time to my thesis.
It’s been a while since I’ve been writing steadily, and even though I am right now, it’s not on a story. I’m busy writing my Bachelor thesis; I can’t divulge my topic yet at this time. Let’s see if I get a high grade and I actually graduate this semester. I’ll dole out a little hint: it has to do with manga, anime and Fantasy.
I’ve been brandishing my red pen for the past couple of weeks during my third revision pass which focuses on spelling and grammar mostly. Clunky writing, missing words, bad punctuation, those sorts of things as well. Continue reading
