Review: Iron man 3

Ever since Iron man 1, I’ve been in love with Tony Stark and his stories. Though Iron man 2 was – for me at least –  a bit of a disappointment, after seeing The Avengers I just knew Iron man 3 would be awesome. And it didn’t disappoint. (Mind that I haven’t read the comics and therefore can’t comment on a certain plot twist some Marvel fans seem to hate).

Review: Salt

Salt is an action-packed movie, full of well choreographed fight scenes, gunfire and tension. It’s a nice action movie with no intentions of being any more than that. Angelina Jolie is Evelyn Salt, a female agent of the CIA who is accused of being a Russian spy. Soon, she is running for her life and to save her husband.

Review: The Expendables 2

If you’ve read more of my reviews, you’ll probably know I am partial to action movies. So when I heard The Expendables 2 was coming out, I was very excited. I liked the first one, even though it had little to no plot. This one had a plot…sort of. The guys have just successfully completed a mission in Taiwan or Thailand when Church gives them another assignment. And they can’t refuse, because last time they aborted the mission and went for full on revenge instead. So they owe him 5 million.  The Expendables (with the addition of Maggie – a Chinese woman working for Church) go off to find a mysterious safe. But when one of them dies in the progress, they again decide to go for revenge.

Review: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Another great movie with great performances from Val Kilmer, Robert Downey Jr. and Michelle Monaghan. Now if you’ve ever read my blog posts about movies with Robert Downey Jr. before, you’ll know I love the guy to death. (Not like how I like Jensen Ackles as an actor, but close enough.) Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is about Harry (RDJ), a petty thief stumbling into an acting audition, who gets himself into trouble alongside a  gay private eye (Perry) and his high school crush (Harmony).

Review: Tropic Thunder

I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard and so frequently (The Avengers came close) in my life because of a movie. Tropic Thunder is a work of genius! The ensemble cast was great – honorary mention: Tom Cruise, who’ve I’ve never liked – and the storyline was hilarious, although a bit unbelievable.  It’s basically about a group of self-absorbed actors (although I think one of them is a rapper of some sort) who are trying to make a movie called Tropic Thunder. Of all the actors Kirk (Downey Jr.) is the only acclaimed one and has won a lot of Oscars; he’s playing a black guy in the movie. Tugg (Stiller) is an action movie has-been and Jack Black’s character is a comedian who wants to be taken seriously.
