Since I finished the first draft of my third WIP [BOR] a couple of weeks ago, I haven’t really written since. I need some time away from the sprawling project; not just to come back later with fresh eyes, but also because I don’t know if I like the road eventually taken.
I’ve been preoccupied with feverishly editing my second NaNoWriMo novel [OSAA] for a couple of months now, and after spending weeks on draft 1.5, I’ve officially started on draft 2. After finishing up my last couple of comments I hope to send this novel to my beta readers. It’ll probably take me another couple of weeks though. I might not finalize it until 2017.
I’ve finished editing both my novellas; I finished editing down my NaNoWriMo 2014 novel [SG] to a novella first, because I wanted to submit it to The Book Smugglers’ novella initiative. Which I did, though I’ve not heard back yet. But on their site they said to wait until August to hear, I believe, so if I haven’t heard anything by then, they’ve decided not to go with my story.
I’ve only recently picked up my editing again, not because I was busy (though I was), but because my head and heart weren’t in it. That’s not a state in which I want to look at my manuscripts, and it took a while for that mood to evaporate. But I’m back in the game now! I’m reserving the weekend especially for editing, mainly because during the week it’s all writing, writing, writing and working, of course.
I already wrote a post about me winning NaNoWriMo [OSAA], so I won’t get into that. I am still working on the book though, and I’m nearing the end. I’m still in love with the story, and that’s a good thing, because I still find myself having to force myself to write some days.
Not much to tell, except that I participated in NaNoWriMo for the second time (I also did it and won last year) and that I’ve won with two days to spare and a whole lot of novel still left to write!
